Overcoming a troubled journey - Asthma

"This little piggy that I have in my hands is a small gift that I have received when I was hospitalized due to chronic asthma."

Here is where I am going to share my Journey in overcoming my Asthma and hopefully stimulate thought and hope for those suffering with Asthma or any other illness, especially severe asthma like me... For those that are not so familiar with what Asthma is, Asthma is a chronic (long-term) inflammatory disease of the lungs. It makes breathing difficult and brings on attacks of non-stop coughing, wheezing, excessive mucus, tightness in the chest and shortness of breath.
At the age of 2, I was diagnosed with severe Asthma and as the years went by it was getting worse. I would see myself being rushed to the Emergency Room about 3 times a month and being referred to different specialists every week. As soon as I would enter the Emergency Room I would immediately be seen by the doctor and would be given about 7-8 treatments on a Nebulizer machine, different cough suppressants, and Steroids. I remember how I would have to sit with the Nebulizer machine on and breathe deeply in and out. I cannot keep count of how many times I had an asthma attack. I was gasping for air and it felt like I was fighting for every breath. I remember how difficult it was to breathe; it was as if I was breathing through a tiny thin straw. My chest would feel very heavy and tight. Sometimes these asthma attacks would happen during the day but the majority of them woke me up in the middle of the night struggling and gasping for air. An asthma attack can be a terrifying experience that leaves you with unanswered questions. When is the next one going to occur? What are the triggers? What can you do to prevent it from happening or ever coming back? These were a few of many questions that I have asked myself and many doctors, but I received no answer. I needed to try and reclaim my life and learn more about this terrible disease even despite repeated claims in the medical field that an asthma cure is impossible. My story is proof that an asthma cure does exist and that it is possible to be cured of severe asthma; My cure is Jesus Christ... Many people would call me crazy when I say that Jesus Christ is my cure just because we are not able to visibly see Him, but Jesus is like the wind - we cannot see Him but we can definitely feel Him when He passes by! Whenever we pray and ask God to feel His presence He grants us that blessing, and let me tell you that it is glorious and wonderful to be able to feel His presence. It is indescribable and undeniable. When feeling His presence anything miraculous can occur in your life, whether it's getting healed from an incurable sickness or being set free from depression, anxiety, etc. All it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20).

Anyone who have not yet received Jesus as their Savior and Doctor of excellence, receive Him now. It is very easy, easier than most people think. Let me give you an example. The Gospel of Mark (Mark 5:25-29), tells of a woman who has been sick for 12 years. Just as so many others, she trusted in medical science and sought help from many doctors. We read in verses 25-26: "Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse."
But then she heard of Jesus and decided to believe in Him. Jesus healed her instantly without using knives or medicine. We read about it in verses 27-29: When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, 'If only I may touch his clothes, I shall be made well.' Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
Another example that clearly shows that Jesus is the cure is in the book of Matthew (Matthew 8:14-17). In these verses the bible speaks about how Jesus healed Peters mother-in-law with just touching her hand, and about a possessed man that was brought to Jesus. Jesus healed him and spoke healing unto every sick being because it was to be fulfilled.

It is that easy to believe. Believing is nothing strange or supernatural. All people have a certain belief. You have to believe in Jesus the same manner that you believe you're going to wake up the next day. You have to believe in Jesus the same way you believe that one day you are going to see your parents again. Believe that Jesus is and victorious over all evil and confess it freely before your relatives, friends and the world no matter what circumstance you are passing through. Then, you will be healed and saved (Romans 10:9-10).

I believe that the power of God expressed to me and others is because of His grace expressed to us and the need for us to recognize that God is alive and sovereign. He has healed many from their sicknesses and afflictions and if you believe in Him He will heal you too. God bless you all... (Luke 1:45)
